The Letter V: Vase of Flowers

Aloha Crafty Friends,

As you are reading this I will be hiking through the deserts of the Grand Canyon. This will also be my last post until End of June, Early July. But once I get my craft room set up I will start posting again. Fear not Ill be back...
Sneak Peak
I've never posted on Monday for My Cricut Craft Room Design Team, but there is a first time for everything. Im trying to be creative and try new things. Mondays are for the Imagine, Cricut Craft Room online design software, as well as the Alphabet. We are down to the letter V. I decided on a vase of flowers. May is also all about flowers. I thought a vase of flowers is appropriated to say goodbye to May.  All the cuts except for the tag is from the Art Philosophy. I designed it it all in CCR, where I am learning to weld and hide contour. The vase is from page 54 and I used the hide contour to hide the stems and flowers.

Vase of Flowers for you!

This is an A6 card made from CTMH Kraft paper. The tag is from TBBM. The stamp set is from My Craft Spot: Butterfly Kisses. The paper is all from my stash. I stickled the butterflies with waterfall and stardust. The twine is from D'vine Twine. I added a bit of white enamel to the center of the flowers then added a pearl. Unfortunately the rest of the information and directions is in the moving truck. Sorry about that.

Thank you for viewing my project today and cannot wait to see what you have created when I return.

Technique Wednesday with Stickles

Aloha Crafty Friends,
Sneak Peak
As you are reading this I will be hiking through the deserts of Moab, UT.  Oh the wonders of technology...

It is Wednesday so My Cricut Craft Room design team could choose to either create a Would You Ever Guess Wednesday project where we only use the feature keys or showcase a technique. I chose technique because who can resist Stickles.
So I made a Spring card using different types and colors of Stickles. The theme for May is flowers, so I used the Pansy image from Art Nouveau.  For those who have been following my posts, do you know what my top 5 fave carts are yet??
I used the Tim Holtz Distressing Stickles in the dark green and dark blue, along with waterfall and stardust (my two fave colors). The TH Stickles have a much wider spout then the normal Stickles so it can be harder to control. So I tend to use it on the larger areas. I use Stickles to accent, add dimension and sometimes to cover up mistakes.
Enjoy!

Happy Spring!

This is a 4.25x4.25 square card. The Pansy cut at 3.5in from page 31 with all the layers from the Art Nouveau Cricut Cart (can be purchased for a great price from Erica's webstore). The sentiment is from My Craft Spot Butterfly Kisses set. The paper is all from my stash (most likely DCWV and CTMH Colonial white). This a very simple card because I wanted to showcase the Stickle accents.

Thank you for viewing my card and I cant wait to see what you have made...

Card Creating Tuesday: Sunflowers!

Aloha Crafty Friends,
Sneak Peak
Welcome to another Card Creating Tuesday with My Cricut Craftroom Design Team. It's May which means May Flowers, lots and lots of flowers. Though in Colorado this year it should be May Showers bring June Flowers.
Today we were asked to do a card with a sunflower.  I decided to go with the sunflower on the Flower Shoppe cart. I know, literal thats me :). So I put down the Giant Flower cart.
I also recently went to a Tim Holtz card making class (at my LLS) where I learned some basic techniques using his distressed inks. So I decided to do something totally different and create the background using a blend of distressing inks.
Enjoy!

Happy Mother's Day -Flower Style

This is an A2 card, I used light blue, light green, and brown distressing inks from Tim Holtz to blend the background. The flourish stamp is also a TH stamp but I don't know which one since it was provided for us in the class. The sentiment is also a TH stamp.
The sunflower was cut on page 17, at 2.5in from the Flower Shoppe Cricut Cartridge (available at a great price from Erica's webstore). The paper is from the Paper Studio So-So Sweet stack and the pink paper is from my stash. It has Japanese washi quality, very cool. I also inked the edges of the flower using coordinating distressing inks.
Simple and Sweet card.

Thank you for viewing my project today. I cant wait to see what you have created...

Theme Thursday: Flowers!

Aloha Crafty Friends,

It's Thursday! Which means it's time for a theme challenge. The month of May at My Cricut Craftroom is all about Flowers, Flowers and more Flowers. I love flowers. I really love creating projects using the Flower Shoppe and Giant Flowers cartridges. Today we were assigned to use a flower cartridge and for me it was a toss up between Giant Flowers and Flower Shoppe.
Sneak Peak
I chose Giant Flowers along with Art Philosophy. Are you tired of my flower projects yet? My goal is to make all the flowers in the cart. So far I've made the lotus, daisy, ashley, and poppy. So I have three more: peony, rose, and the hibiscus. Today I'm showing the peony. Originally the peony was suppose to be part of the fall wild flower bouquet that I showed for the blog hop over the weekend. But the peony does not have a bottom, its made in a ring with no backing. You can see in the sneak peak, the purple showing at the bottom is the background paper, you can also see the leaf stems peaking through too. I was not sure how I would make a bouquet of peonies, attaching the stem would be tricky. So I ended up making a home decor project, wall art. Again its Fall theme using the same paper as the Wild Flower Bouquet, CTMH Dreamin'.
Enjoy!
